A Shih Tzu is bred to be a companion to its owner. Very few dogs are so content to just lay in your lap (sneaking in as many kisses to your face as you will let them get by with).

Shih Tzu were bred for the royal family and court of China. They seem to know this is their heritage. No dog carries itself with greater pride with head held high.

The Shih Tzu is a very intelligent breed, but can be a challenge to train due to its somewhat obstinate nature.
